Picture Post 1027 : Casares

Back from Spain and a return to the wet grey skies of West Yorkshire after five days of vibrant blue skies and  radiant heat that warms the body and gently toasts the spirit. Jamie and Bev were perfect hosts who constantly took us places, showed us places and enriched the whole experience with their company. The sun shone, the planes flew on time and Andalusia was quite beautiful. I took a fair number of photographs and I will show you a sample over the coming days. As I select them and post them, who knows, maybe a little of that warm sun will come shining through. Today's picture shows the lovely old village of Casares which is a few miles inland from Estepona, between Marbella and Gibraltar.

  3. Great shot, Alan! We need some sunshine here in Central PA - we're in the midst of torrential rains and flooding creeks and rivers.

  11. Well my wife says I should take more photos of people.
I honestly could not find a single human on this wonderful photograph. But you're not married to my wife....

  14. My first thought - just like Chairman Bill's (which could, if you know his blog, be quite an alarming trend!) - was that this would make a fiendish jigsaw.

  17. Wow! Alan this takes the cake quite literally! I just love playing along with Carmi's Thematic Photographic, you just never know what someone will bring in! ;) Marvelous selection you posted! I hope you keeping popping in here too, I've been posting here the longest of all, (still love it) Bob S. came over a while ago and Little Nell just arrived a few weeks ago too!

  18. This picture is staggeringly beautiful, iconic even. I find myself diving into the tiny details, wondering about the lives going on behind each window, about the community that connects all of these remarkable structures together.

I'm so glad you shared this as part of our Thematic theme, and hope you'll pop back in for the next one (it goes live Monday night.)

  19. Alan, yes you should pop over to Thematic Photographic again! The theme is "playing with light" I know you probably even have a few of those from Spain even!
