Like A Bat Dodging A Power-Line In The Dark

I bought a Livescribe Wifi pen yesterday. It memorises all you write and all you say and transfers them automatically to your Evernote account. There are 1001 reasons for owning one, none of which make rational sense, but as The Good Lady Wife said when I submitted my business case for buying one, "once you go, you're a long time dead".

  3. This is a really cool post as you lead up to the end and tell about your new gadget. Of course, we all knew where you were going. Now a pen like that amazes me. I've never heard of them and never dreamed about such a gadget.
I guess obsessions have some benefits although I'm not sure.

  6. As a fellow gadget addict, and someone who has yet to achieve the confidence and success you describe, I can say I never heard anyone articulate this so well! I'm going shopping tomorrow!... I'm also joining the "Good Lady Wife" fan club.

  7. This is a incredible post! I love it! I know nothing of gadgetry, but I know good writing, I think. That last paragraph is poetry. Seriously.

  8. “The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.”

Do you have more Gigabytes than Omar's pen, Alan?

  10. He who dies with the most toys wins. At least that's what the bumper stickers used to say here in the '80s when everyone felt better off. I certainly don't want anyone looking at me balefully from their deathbed saying ".... and you never let me get one of those Wifi pens...... "
