Another experiment to try when you don't want to mow the lawn is just spot colorizing where you leave most of the photo black and white but colorize something you want to highlight. Both attempts here are pretty good. I like your version a little better, I think. Being used to Lake Tahoe's VERY COLD water, cold water doesn't deter me much. Lake water in my experience never is that blue color. More of a greenish gray.
