Even when I was about 10 we lived opposite a woman who won an award for being one of the "best hatted" women in Brittain! She was one of the Beverley Sisters and used to put on a hat to go into her front garden to prune a shrub! Weirdly my mother was almost never photographed wearing a hat although she was from the hat years. She must have been more of a rebel than I thought.Georginahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13232154028235485600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37291817.post-36250470906538584032014-11-12T10:59:36.288+00:002014-11-12T10:59:36.288+00:00Great photo. And I miss the frocks, of course... oh - and as Jenny says - the pinnies!Mike@Bit About Britainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08741370413282813229noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37291817.post-13064168290801971952014-11-11T22:40:32.012+00:002014-11-11T22:40:32.012+00:00A beautiful photograph that seems to capture their...A beautiful photograph that seems to capture their character in a moment of conversation. It was mandatory to cover a head in church. Even the shoulders had to be covered when I was a wee lass. <br />Yup Dress code has changed.
