1949


My weekly instalment of a photograph from each year of my life is an appropriate one as, on Fathers' Day, it features my father, Albert, and me. It is doubly appropriate because his birthday would have been next week - he was born on the 25th June 1911. Happy Birthday, Happy Fathers' Day.

  1. I could not recognize the location of your first installment - or even if was in fact me standing in front of Albert - but this week's photo was definitely taken at 6 Southmere Drive.

    It is interesting to note architectural details from the late 1930's/early 1940's: The lattice work fence, imitation leaded window, pebble-dash, stone quoins (leading to a stone frontage) and coal place door.

    Incidentally, my pram was deluxe than yours.
