Blowing In The Wind

It is a miserable day today : the wind is blowing and the rain is lashing down. So let me look back at last week's delightful visit to Liverpool and let me pose a couple of questions. The questions relate to the above image : what is it and where is it? The answers, my friend, are no doubt blowing in the wind. As for me, I will be braving that wind later this afternoon as I and the GLW make our way to the MEN Arena in Manchester. It is a little additional retirement present for the GLW : I am sure you can guess who we are going to see.

  1. Ooh, I know that one. Amelia Earhart. As far as where, all I know is that it's in England. Given your intro... Liverpool?

  7. That is a cool sculpture. I figured that was Amelia but I didn't know the building with the deco carving existed. It is wonderful. The goggles gave it away and yet I thought maybe they weren't goggles.

  8. It does seem to be Amelia Earhart, but I can't find any information about the location. Is it near the dock building?

  11. No way Amelia, more likely Egyptian or from Stars Wars, but whoever it appears to be cold! Brrr I can hear it groan.... It would be cool to know, so I hope later you disclose who and where...I will offer it could be related to one, if not designed by Harry Wild Jones who crafted a lovely watertower not far from me and you can view it at this link...

  14. Couldn't swear to it, but it's either on one of the ventilation outlets to the old Mersey Tunnel, or on Mann Island.
